Another World!

We are thankful to Mr Pramod Kumar for his generous support for ‘Parivartan’. He is guiding ten V std rural students for ‘Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST)’ which is held every year for the only Navodaya Vidyalaya in a district throughout the country.

All the expenditure is borne by the HRD Ministry, GOI for about 80 students who are getting through every year. The quality of education there is considered to be on a par with the finest schools of the country and probably the best a rural student can get in the area. We also provided some entrance examination books to them. This may be their gateway to a different world. Thanking Mr Pramod Kumar once again, we wish them all the luck and success!

'Hello World!'

Courtesy: Mr Sant Kumar (Sunshine Hi-tech Coaching Classes)

A four-day Computer Program was organized in Bhatgaon, Surguja (Chhattisgarh) in collaboration with ‘Sunshine Hi-tech Coaching Classes’. We are thankful to Mr. Sant Kumar, the man behind the whole program, an alumnus of JNV Basdei, for the kind support.

21 students from the nearby villages attended the program. They enjoyed learning the basics of computer, for many of them this was their first encounter with some device called ‘Computer’. The whole program was planned and executed by the proprietor of ‘Sunshine Hi-tech Coaching Classes’ Mr. Sant Kumar and his team. In support of our vision, he is also guiding two V std students in preparing ‘Navodaya Vidyalaya Entrance Examination’ as of now. Their performance has been very good and that made him think to include some more students very soon.

The Reality Show!

    mahesh ekka
By Mahesh Ekka

I started taking tuition for primary students at my home in Surguja (C.G) as a  part of our 'Project Gyan'. Presently eight students are directly getting the benefit of the project. As I am a teacher, I enjoy interacting with them. Like other children who get all the facilities in life, they have high dreams for themselves.

They are brilliant, but lack support in academics at home. Their illiterate or primary educated, busy in day-today activities are not able to help them even when they want to. However, some people still do not understand the value of education,. For them sending their child to school is to prevent them doing wrong things or to save lunch. Sometimes when their child can be given a work then work is preferred rather than sending him to school.

Some never get a chance to see a school

Girls who always have some work at home never get the chance to see the school still in some areas. When I tried to persuade some of the parents to sent their child to school as part of 'Project School', some of them agreed and sent their children to schools, but many were reluctant. I persuaded a family to enroll their 14 year daughter in class I. It was my biggest satisfaction.
